With more than 10 years of experience creating personalized gifts, we have worked with customers celebrating just about every kind of occasion. Birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, retirements, graduations, new homes, holidays and milestone moments all bring people through our door. We also create memorial pieces, thank-you gifts, recognition pieces and those gifts that don’t really need an occasion at all.
A big part of what we do is simply listening. Tell us who the gift is for, what you’re celebrating and a little about the person receiving it. From there, we can help you choose an item, talk through different ideas and recommend a design that fits. If you already have an idea in mind, we can help bring that idea to life and work through the details with you. Every project is a little different, which is why we work one on one with our customers rather than expecting you to choose from a handful of set designs.
Our gift options include engraved glassware, drinkware, serving boards, keepsakes, wedding and anniversary pieces, gifts for the home, and many other pieces that can be personalized with names, dates, messages or artwork. We can also help with gifts for groups, bridal parties, employees, volunteers and organizations when you need several pieces that work together.
Not every gift needs to be personalized. Brown Dog Originals also offers a growing collection of everyday wares featuring original artwork. A small selection of customer favorites is available in our North Waterboro shop, ready to take home. The selection is intentionally thoughtful rather than expansive, and customers often find a piece that feels just right. Additional designs and products are available to order in our online shop.
Customers are welcome to stop into our North Waterboro shop during regular business hours to look at samples and talk through ideas. From the first conversation through the finished piece, the goal is to make the process approachable and create something you’ll be happy to give.

Custom Gifts
Custom gift pieces can range from celebrating a person or a place to honoring a memory or an event. Some are lighthearted, some are meaningful, and many fall somewhere in between.
Customers may come in with an idea they’d like brought to life, or with a sense of what they want the gift to express. Through conversation, we work together to create something personal, thoughtful, and well suited to the occasion. If you’re unsure which item will work best, we can often help source well-made pieces that engrave cleanly and hold up beautifully over time.
Each piece is finished with attention to detail, so it feels good to give and even better to receive.
Original Art
Brown Dog Originals offers a collection of finished pieces featuring original artwork. Each design begins as hand-created art and is thoughtfully adapted onto functional wares meant to be used and enjoyed.
Much of the artwork is inspired by our Maine roots, celebrating coastal life, lake days, and the everyday symbols of life in the New England region. The designs are recognizable and familiar, making them easy to gift or bring into your own home.
Available pieces may include mugs, glassware, insulated drinkware, coasters, tote bags, small textile goods, decorative pillows, and wood boards.
